30 years ago, during the interval of the Eurovision Song Contest 1994, a star was born under the lightning-fast tapping feet of champion dancers Jean Butler and Michael Flatley, accompanied by the stunning original music of Bill Whelan and the vocal group, Anúna. It was the perfect fusion of mind-boggling choreography and incredible music - a wonderful spectacle that wowed an estimated 300 million viewers worldwide. Production team John McColgan and Moya Doherty invested greatly into this short performance, expanding it to a full-fledged theatrical performance that hit the stage for the first time in 1995, selling out their five-week run within three days of ticket sales opening. Since then, Riverdance has been performed over 15,000 times across 49 countries and six continents, and has been experienced live by more than 30 million people.

And now, a new generation of talent is taking centre stage - with none of the performers born before the show began 30 years ago.
